  1. Will this contract template work in my state even if I don’t live where you live?

    Yes! There is a clause that requires you to insert your state of residence so that all legal disputes would be settled in your state. However, if you want to make sure the contract template is strictly compliant to your state, we recommend having the document reviewed by a lawyer in your local jurisdiction.

  2. What is your refund policy?

    Due to the digital nature of the product, no refunds are offered on The Custom Stationery Contract. If you’re on the fence about whether you The Custom Stationery Contract is a good fit for your business, simply email us at [email protected] so we can answer any questions. (Just don’t ask about what happened on Cami’s 21st birthday because she doesn’t know either.)

  3. Will this contract template work if I live outside the US?

    Absolutely! You can purchase & use the template at your own risk no matter where you live in the world, even if you’re on a teeny-tiny island in the middle of the Pacific. Instead of listing your state in the last clause of the template, you would list your country as the location where legal disputes would be settled. Of course, we recommend checking with a lawyer in your country to make sure that it meets all legal requirements.

  4. Does this contract cover custom calligraphy services?

    Oooh, good one! The short answer? Yes and no. There is a style clause that covers handwritten calligraphy for addressing wedding invitations, but there are not extensive guidelines within the contract for calligraphy-only instances (i.e., formatting a guest address list, what to do in instances where there is an error on the envelope, etc.) Elisabeth uses a separate calligraphy sub-contract with clients that request calligraphy addressing services, and Cami simply uses The Custom Stationery Contract. (See, we DO have differences!)

  5. Does this contract cover any services outside of custom stationery, such as wood signs, day-of wedding goods, pet portraits, live art etc., and could I use it to protect myself for these services?

    No, it does not cover any of these. Of course, you could totes purchase the contract and tweak the clauses, but this agreement is formatted for stationers who create custom invitations, and the nitty-gritty details are quite specific. If you’re still scratching your head, wondering “do I need this??"“ email us at [email protected], and we’ll help you figure it out!

  6. Can I edit the contract template?
    You sure can! We understand that all of us run our businesses a little bit differently, so we want this to work for everyone. We’ve included highlighted sections of the contract so you can easily edit the nuances like due dates, payment terms, etc., and start using it immediately. We also encourage you to tweak The Custom Stationery Contract as needed. We have covered every situation, but we’re big fans of personalization. If something doesn’t work for you (or you don’t like it!), delete it! There are also some optional clauses that you can decide to include or not.
